Pianolab. Amsterdam
curator: Stevko Busch
The series "Pianolab. Amsterdam" is organized by pianist Stevko Busch in order to give space to Amsterdam-based pianists to present their music.
Every first and third Sunday of the month, you can expect performances of contemporary composed and improvised music as well as classical repertoire and jazz in various combinations - often two of them in the same concert. Regularly, premieres of new compositions are being played.
This format is unique and gives access to extraordinary combinations and unexpected musical contexts.
Besides pianists from Amsterdam like Misha Mengelberg, Mike Del Ferro, Walter Lampe, Dimitar Bodurov (a.o), musicians from abroad have presented their repertoire (Michael Arnowitt, USA; Julie Sassoon, UK; Gunda Gottschalk, D). There are young talents as well as very experienced musicians playing, and even one or two masters in their domain are willing to play at this extraordinary venue.
'Pianolab. Amsterdam' is a co-production of Goethe-Institut Amsterdam and the Gallery of Tones Foundation.
