The series Pianolab.Amsterdam is one of our main activities organised since 2006 in order to give space to Amsterdam-based and international pianists to present their music.
You can expect performances of contemporary composed and improvised music as well as classical repertoire and jazz in various combinations - often two of them in the same concert. Regularly, premieres of new compositions are being played.
This format is unique and gives access to extraordinary combinations and unexpected musical contexts.
Besides pianists and co-programmers from Amsterdam like Dante Boon, Misha Mengelberg, Walter Lampe, Dimitar Bodurov, Achim Kaufmann, Koen Nutters (a.o.), musicians from abroad have presented their repertoire (Michael Arnowitt, USA; Julie Sassoon, UK; Gunda Gottschalk, D). There are young talents as well as very experienced musicians playing, and even one or two masters in their domain are willing to play at this extraordinary venue.
